“You are always one decision away from a totally different life.” When I read this for the first time, it didn’t really make sense, but as time passed, I understood what it meant.
Most of us want something, but we’re afraid to go for it. The fear that holds us back might be destroying beautiful possibilities. Every choice we make changes the direction we’re moving toward. Some choices are made when we’re sure, some are made out of pressure, and some are made without much thought at all.
I think it’s important to sit down with yourself and ask whether what you’re doing is really what you want to be doing. I know you don’t have to plan your whole life and live by it, but it’s still important to have an idea of what you’re doing and where you’re heading.
For instance, you might be stuck in a relationship where you can’t truly be yourself, yet you stay in it because you want the other person to be part of your life. Sometimes, we fall for the idea of something or someone more than the actual person or thing itself.
It’s important to take a step back and think about your actions. You might be making the wrong choices without even looking at both sides. We are always just one decision away from changing everything — so if you feel like you need to, make that decision for yourself.
In this busy modern world, a lot of us lose ourselves while trying to figure out what we want to be. When you’re sad, people say “distract yourself” or “forget it,” but honestly, neither of those things really help. If you’re feeling bad or unsure about something, the only way to move forward is to let the feelings in, feel what you need to feel, and then let go.
It’s okay to feel things, as long as you know how to let go of those feelings when the time comes. Nobody is worth changing yourself for, and no kind of love is worth begging for.
A lot of things are left unsaid because we aren’t ready to face a negative response. But all those unsaid things could actually change your life for the better — so talk, and say it all out loud. In the end, it’s better to face rejection than to live with regret.
This post really means a lot to me because I can relate. Hope you liked it! Make sure to comment and subscribe.
