Remember the days when where you are now was what you wanted most? Now that what you once wished for is your reality, you have forgotten how badly you wanted it. We only truly appreciate things when the desire is still there. Once we get what we want, we tend to move on, and the excitement begins to fade.
To me, romanticising is an art. It makes you believe, and when you believe in something, the way you see the world begins to change. If you have big goals but feel like giving up, start romanticising them. It will lift you up and remind you that it is worth it.
I came across a quote that said, “Beauty is the face of someone who shed tears and now smiles,” and it carried so much meaning. No matter what bad choices you have made or difficult decisions you once took, it is all in the past. You got through it, and that is what matters.
When you are in a bad place, it is natural to make choices that are not always right. But your past choices do not define who you are now. There is something in every day to be grateful for. Tears will turn into smiles eventually, and that is the beauty of time.
We should all aim to create a story worth being told. It is okay if your story begins today. What matters is that you want to do something for yourself.
We often dwell on what if, so try thinking about it differently. What if all those bad choices lead to something good? What if negativity can be replaced with optimism? What if you can become a happier version of yourself?
When you start romanticising your life and thinking more optimistically, everything around you begins to feel lighter, even in the worst of times.
