Is the moon lonely ?

After every sunset I watch, I wait a little longer to see the moon. The moon brings so much life into the sky even though she does not have her own light. Watching the moon’s reflection fall into the ocean’s blanket is genuinely alluring.

Like the moon, we all go through phases, but do we all come out bright and radiant like her? If you watch the moon every day, you will realise that no phase is permanent. There are so many things we can learn from and admire the moon for. How does the moon so effortlessly bring light when only darkness surrounds her?

I used to think that the moon is lonely, because even in a sky full of stars, the moon stands out. Later I realised that the moon is only noticed because she stands out. In a sky full of stars, be the moon. She is not lonely. She just stands out because she is different, and that is what makes us all look at her.

In the book Dear John, Nicholas Sparks wrote, “It’s a full moon here tonight, which makes me think of you. Because I know that no matter what I am doing or where I am, this moon will always be the same size as yours, half a world away.” I think these lines are beautiful.

In my opinion, the moon and the sun have a bond that defines balance in a relationship or friendship. When one shines, the other admires. The moon shines every night and shows that there is beauty in the darkness, while the sun so selflessly fades.

You might think that I am obsessed with celestial bodies, but it’s okay. Just like the wolves and the sun, I will always be that girl who finds the moon fascinating.
